Tips to better understanding your eye prescription.
Your eye doctor’s prescription will tell you the following information to help you order the right contact lenses:
Locate the brand name of your contact lenses, such as Acuvue, Alcon-Ciba Vision, Bausch+Lomb, etc.
Locate the prescription details for your contact lenses.
On the contact lens packaging or contact lens prescription you’ll find a series of numbers that identify your contact lens prescription.
Make note that that there is no R (right) or L (left) listed on the box; you’ll need to remember which power is for which eye. We encourage you to write `R` or `L` on the boxes when you receive them.
Ordering or reordering from this Website is simple, and you’ll find the lens parameters you must enter. In many cases you will not need to select from all the boxes—some will be pre-filled for you.
If you wear lenses to correct for your astigmatism such as toric lenses, you’ll have an additional set of figures to enter when ordering your lenses. Additional information would include the Cylinder Power and Axis parameters.
Similarly, when ordering tinted or colored contact lenses, you’ll enter a color value that matches your eye doctor’s prescription or values listed on the box if you are reordering.
